Job title: Special needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Newham, East London

Setting: Mainstream Primary School

Pay rate: £70 – £90 per day (Depending on experience)

Working hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term time only)

Active Recruitment are working with a fantastic mainstream Primary School in Newham, who are seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to young learners across key stage 2 with additional needs including Autism and Social and emotional needs. This will be an immediate start, initially until the end of the academic year with permanent opportunities for the right candidate. This is a great opportunity for a Special needs Teaching Assistant to develop their career within a friendly and supportive environment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To provide 1:1 support to young learners across Key stage 2 with ASD and Social & Emotional needs.
  • As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will responsible for providing feedback on child’s progress to class teachers and parents
  • Establish trusting relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs and personalities
  • Prepare resources required for learning activities and assist pupils in their use
  • Working with teachers to monitor progress of pupils
